I found gainful employment within 3 weeks. The faculty is supportive and has real world turbine experience. The school has its own 80 meter utility scale Dewind 2meg wind turbine. I would rate this school better Airstream and NWREI
Scott,
I’m appalled but now surprised with your statement “I would rate this school better than Airstreams and NWREI”. If one has never lived in Cuba or Russia, what kind of justification do they have with writing or saying, “Living in the US is better than living in Cuba or Russia.” Therefore your statement sounds rather idiotic!
I will attempt to teach you something which the real world turbine experienced instructors failed to teach you during the 2-years/whatever of schooling. This lesson will be free of charge, yet more valuable than any piece of paper you have obtained which reads your name and degree/completion. Here we go:
Opinions are great; however I urge severe caution in thinking and expressing it in this manner. The manner which I’m referring to may be perceived as child like and untrustworthy. It’s not needed or appreciated within the industry and people that write/communicate in this manner may obtain a job but not a good career in wind or whatever. I have seen people with this mentality injure techs, equipment and/or themselves along with providing poor quality workmanship…failure! In addition; they are typically whiners attempting to work in a challenging environment. Instead; Honesty, Ownership, Integrity and willingness to Learn (HOIL) and help others are more valuable principles to your wind career/career and life.
I just guessing but I would be willing to say your faculty and the schools Sr. Faculty “may have expressed” more than once their negative opinions towards the schools you name…just a guess! Why? It’s quite simple: those schools “may be” a serious threat and by putting others down, they feel it makes them look better…OMG! Sounds like junior high mentality!
They can have teh best equipment and technological program in the world but instead of expressing this, “maybe” they should have spent more time on the students mentality and principles. HOIL will prevail! All graduates represent thier shools, as a field manager, I would find you and others with your mentality more challenging in a already challenging environment. The real challenge is trust to perfom safe quality workmanship and impact my career/farm and the industry in a positive way! I would recommend you remove your comment and change your mentailty.
No response please and end of lesson…
